Are you looking to volunteer as a couple? We can use your help in our popular and busy Thrift Shop, as well as other programs that require snack or full meal preparation. Come out to volunteer your culinary skills and have dinner too. Most programs run from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Parksville
Better At Home
Drivers – Take clients to non-medical appointments: hairdresser, banking, personal shopping etc.
Grocery Bus/Shopping Attendants – Every second Friday, help seniors read labels, reach for items etc. and sit with them for a coffee break before heading home.
Male Friendly Visitors – play a game of cards, do a puzzle, share stories, visit in a senior’s home etc.
SOS Child, Youth & Family Programs
Help prep and prepare meals, spend time with children and youth, support staff and be a positive mentor.
Volunteer Drivers
Help get people to their medical appointments. Volunteer to deliver Meals on Wheels. Our residents rely on these programs to stay healthy and in their own homes.
Seniors Connecting
This popular program helps our seniors connect with others, socialize and attend outings. We are looking for volunteers to help with food prep, program set-up and take down.
SOS Thrift Shop – 3.5 hours a week, either am or pm. Immediate needs are Thursday and Friday afternoons as a cashier (or whatever fits your schedule).
The Thrift Shop is our main source of funding and supports all of our vital community programs and services.

Kids Movement Program Kitchen help is needed to prepare light snacks for both girls and boys after school groups. Clean up after program is also included. Hours are from 2:00 pm to approximately 5:15 pm
