The SOS Community Services Centres are gathering places for the community. Our Child, Youth & Family programming provides a supportive and nurturing environment for children, youth and their families in District 69. We offer a variety of programs, support and services (free of charge) and also provide referrals to other services available in our community.

The SOS Thrift Shop is an excellent place for the bargain hunter in all of us! Inside you’ll find 18,000 sq. feet of merchandise donated by the community. All of the net revenue generated from Thrift Shop sales goes directly to SOS programs, initiatives and outreach to benefit our residents and strengthen our community.

SOS programs and services are supported by over 350 volunteers, and SOS could not run our vital community programs without them. Over 80% of SOS funding comes from the SOS Thrift Shop, so support in the form of donations and purchases are critical. SOS is also funded by community donations, estate bequests, and fundraising activities.

SOS offers programs throughout the year, to help adults in the community lead healthy and vibrant lives. We can help adults and seniors manage life’s challenges, connect with others, attend outings and educational events, and access services in time of need. We also provide referrals to other services available in the community.

Donate to the S.O.S.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SOS is only offering essential services at this time. SOS Thrift Shop is closed until further notice. SOS Community Services Centres are closed, but we are able to continue our Meals on Wheels program, Emergency Assistance & Advocacy (by phone) and Seniors Advocacy (by phone). Ministry clients can call about using a drop-off/pick-up service for report cards. The Homeless Prevention program will continue support for existing clients. All Child, Youth & Family programs are suspended. For more information or for assistance, call 250-248-2093. We wish you good health and hope to reconnect again soon. In the meantime, and as always, your donations are sincerely appreciated.

SOS Community Services Centres are closed, and volunteer activities are suspended with the exception of a few areas. We are unable to interview new potential volunteers at this time. We are able to continue offering the Meals on Wheels program, Emergency Assistance & Advocacy (by phone) and Seniors Advocacy (by phone). The Counselling Referral program is connecting clients with professional counsellors online. The Homeless Prevention program will continue support for existing clients.
