Project Connect Health Fair

Project Connect Health Fair

SOS was proud to be part of the collaborative effort that connected dozens of homeless residents, and many who are at risk of homelessness, with essential items and resources last week during the sixth annual Project Connect Health Fair. The event, hosted by the Oceanside Task Force on Homelessness, was held at the Parksville Community Centre with the goal of connecting residents in need to services and organizations in the community that are dedicated to eradicating homelessness and the stigmas surrounding it. Residents got free hair cuts, hearing exams, public health testing, hygiene items, portraits, food, pet food and more, while gathering information on local resources. All the give-away items and services were donated by service providers, local businesses and community members.
