Pym Floral Display photos

In honour of our 50th Anniversary, the City of Parksville put a beautiful floral display together on the corner of Pym Street and the Island Highway. At the end of August, we were lucky enough to have the assistance of the Parksville Fire Department to get some great aerial photos of the display! Fire department volunteers brought the ladder truck and Marketing Coordinator Lissa Alexander climbed up to get some shots of the 50th Anniversary Committee and SOS Board of Directors. The publisher of the Parksville Qualicum Beach News also came to get some photos of the action.

SOS has transitioned away from the Seniors Connecting Program

SOS has transitioned away from the Seniors Connecting Program

SOS remains committed to maximizing our impact for socially and economically disadvantaged residents while avoiding duplication of services. To that end, we are prioritizing programs with the broadest reach and deepest impact on community needs. This strategic shift allows us to re-focus our limited resources on key initiatives, leading us to transition away from the Seniors Connecting Program. We remain deeply committed to supporting seniors through our other essential programs, including Oceanside Better at Home, Seniors Advocacy Services, Meals On Wheels, and Medical Appointment Transportation Service.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors – your support is the heart and soul of everything we do. Community contributions through financial gifts, Thrift Shop donations, and volunteered time, fuel our ability to adapt, innovate, and continue serving the residents of District 69 by strengthening our social safety net.
