Thank you everyone who came out to the Tigh-Na-Mara Christmas Toy Drive this year!
We received an outstanding and record-breaking amount of cash and gift card donations this year! And it’s the most toys we have received in the last few years!
Altogether 1,416 toys and gifts were donated, $4,105 in gift cards and $15,462 in cash and cheques.
All the toys and cash donations received have gone towards our Caring for Community at Christmas program.
Do you know a local family in need of a mattress for their child?
M&N Mattress & Sofa Gallery is partnering with SOS this year to provide the gift of good sleep to residents in need. M&N Mattress & Sofa Gallery will donate 12 mattresses, mattress covers and pillows to SOS to distribute to residents who need them as part of their 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway.
M&N Mattress owner Mark Nagra said this is the 22 year his company has been doing business in the community, and this is their way of giving back to the community that has supported them. The mattresses are high quality and B.C. made. Local families with children in need of a mattress can contact SOS to be considered for this giveaway until Dec. 22. Call 250-248-2093 ext. 241.
Join us this Sunday, Nov. 20, to see the magical annual Silver Spur Toy Ride. Witness the wonderful Christmas spirit as up to 40 horses and riders (dressed up in their Christmas attire) parade through the streets of Parksville. During the event, they will collect toys for the families and carrots for the horses to snack on. The toys collected will help stock the SOS Toy Shop, where low-income parents, caregivers and grandparents can shop for free. We hope to see you there!
