SOS PROGRAM COORDINATOR

SOS is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968. SOS provides more than 20 local programs and services to all ages, including programs that meet basic needs and promote healthy living and social connections.

The SOS Program Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day operations of community-based programs for adults and seniors. You will provide coverage and back-up support for the other SOS client service programs and reception. You will work as front-line staff performing client intakes, assessments, referrals, and advocacy. You will provide program support and program administration support to the Administration & Client Services Manager.

 Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Completion of post-secondary training in a related field supplemented by a minimum of two years previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative skills, knowledge, and experience in office procedures.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Access.
  • Ability to work both independently, and in a team in a fast-paced, busy, dynamic environment, shifting priorities as required.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
  • Experience working with volunteers and clients in the social services sector, including handling challenging interpersonal situations, preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and own, insured vehicle.

Hours of Work:      35 hours per week

Compensation:       $24.00/hour (+ benefits listed above)
