SOS is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968. SOS provides more than 20 local programs and services to all ages, including programs that meet basic needs and promote healthy living and social connections.
The SOS Reception Coordinator coordinates the daily operations of the SOS Community Services Centre busy reception area; which includes answering phone inquiries, checking and responding to emails, greeting and directing clients. You will assist other Coordinators with various aspects of their programs as needed; coordinate and schedule office volunteers; and perform administrative and office support tasks, including processing payments, and ordering supplies. This is a part-time / job-share position working 2 to 3 days per week.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of post-secondary training in a related field supplemented by a minimum of two years previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience of working with volunteers and clients in the social services sector is preferred, including handling challenging interpersonal situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, including experience working with and assisting individuals, families, and seniors facing adversity, and possibly dealing with multiple barriers.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in a busy, open-plan office environment.
- Strong administrative skills, knowledge, and experience in office procedures.
- Excellent computer skills in MS 365, databases, and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Hours of Work: 14 to 21 hours per week
Compensation: $24.50 per hour (+ vacation paid on each cheque)
