SOS is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968. SOS provides more than 20 local programs and services to all ages, including programs that meet basic needs and promote healthy living and social connections.
The Accounting Administrator reviews all source documents for the finance department and follows up with department heads and vendors where necessary. You will process bi-weekly payroll and all payables; monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures and with government remittances and reporting, produce financial statements, reports and summaries when requested. You will fill-in for the Financial Controller when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Certificate or diploma in accounting, payroll or business administration required.
- Knowledge of financial management and control methods, accounting principles, payroll, financial statement preparation, and administrative management.
- A minimum of three years of payables and payroll experience using accounting software; experience with knowledge of non-profit, community-based programs and services would be desirable.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Report preparation and analysis skills.
- Must have ability to manage and operate QuickBooks Enterprise, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Knowledge and hands-on experience in office procedures, and computer (MS Office). Strong Excel skills required.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with co-workers.
- The ability to function independently and under pressure, while processing a high volume of transactions and multiple concurrent projects.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Compensation: $27.00 – $32.00/hour depending on experience (+ benefits listed above)
