SOS is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968. SOS provides more than 20 local programs and services to all ages, including programs that meet basic needs and promote healthy living and social connections.
The SOS Client Services Assistant supports daily administrative and client service operations, gaining hands‑on experience in client services, operations, and administration. Working closely with the Manager and Program Coordinators, you will assist low‑income, unhoused, and underhoused individuals, families, and seniors in District 69 while maintaining efficient, confidential office processes. Your duties will include client intakes and referrals; operational, office, and reception support; reporting and data management, and participation staff meetings and training.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program – between 19 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada
- High-school diploma and interest in, ongoing, or completion of post‑secondary education in social or human services.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases.
- Ability to work effectively with the SOS team and stakeholders.
- Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with SOS staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Valid driver’s license.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Compensation: $18.25/hour (+ 4% vacation pay)
Contract Dates: May 25 to July 17, 2026 (8 weeks)
